Partridge Family - The Los Angeles County District Attorney decided Thursday (October 5) not to press charges against former "Partridge Family" star (though he never sang) Danny Bonaduce. Danny was onstage at the Fox Reality TV Channel Really Awards Monday with ex-"Survivor: Pearl Islands" player Johnny Fairplay. At one point, Johnny grabbed Danny, who then threw him over his shoulder to the floor, where Johnny landed face-first (losing some teeth in the process). The DA believes Johnny initiated the scuffle and that there is insufficient evidence Danny wished to cause Johnny harm.
Million Dollar Quartet - A Broadway-style musical revolving around the "Million Dollar Quartet" opened in Issaquah, Washington September 19. Phil Spector - The judge in the Phil Spector murder trial told both sides Wednesday (October 3) that he wants a new trial to begin within four months. However, Phil's lead attorneys told the judge they were quitting the case, which could delay procedings for several months. Phil's first trial ended with a hung jury September 26 after a 10-2 deadlock. Another hearing in the case is set for October 23.
Ray Charles, Jr - In court news: Ray Charles, Jr., son of the late singer, sued his father's former manager Friday (October 5) for $10 million, claiming the man-- who served as executor of Ray, Sr.'s will-- convinced the younger Ray to give up shares in a family-owned production company. Ray, Jr. says he was having drug problems at the time and was taken advantage of. And Bruce Springsteen was sued Thursday (October 4) by a member of the U.S. Equestrian Team for breach of contract in backing out of a deal to buy a horse for $650,000. The horse in question is named-- "Pavarotti".
Elton John - Police in Northumbria, England have seized a photograph of two naked, underaged girls from an art gallery there. On Wednesday (September 26), Elton John came forward as the owner of the photograph, as well as 148 others in a collection by U.S. photographer Nan Goldin. Elton says the photograph has been shown around the world without objection. Nevertheless, he closed the entire exhibition.

Procol Harum - Procol Harum frontman Gary Brooker said Wednesday (October 3) that he is appealing last year's British court decision that gave organist Matthew Fisher 40% of the royalties from their tune "A Whiter Shade Of Pale". Gary's lawyer said that Matthew waited until 2005 to ask for ownership " because he wanted to enjoy the life of a pop star and knew that a lawsuit would end his career with the band". The lawyer didn't explain why Gary waited ten months to appeal.
